So, I'm back, or trying to be back.

Let's see how this works. I began this and then it took me a month or two to post a follow up. I don't desperately want to make this work, but I know that for professional and marketing reasons alone I should and so, thusly, I AM going to make this work.

I'm back. Let me say it again, for my benefit. I'm back. For the absolute zero number of readers out there, I'm back. Rejoice.

A valid question, I suppose, is what will this blog be about? But that isn't quite as valid a question as it could be; because what are any blogs about except the same convolution of things, better known as the universe, or what we've come to allow to pass as the universe. A better question would be what the fuck will make this blog better than any of the other inane, multitudinous blogs out there? Since, after all, we are all witnessing the same topsy-turvy world only through a different and personalized lens, what can I say that isn't already being said...and said...and said...and put fitfully to rest?

That, I like to think, is my goal for this. To say and see things differently than they are already being said and seen. Originality, you might call it, though that is for you to say and not me.

A Treaty On Blogs

I've long been an ardent critic of blogging as a whole, and more specifically, bloggers as a population. Sure. I've said unsavory things about them. Sure. I've denigrated them from time to time and often made jibes at their talents or what I then jealously decried as a lack thereof, but it was always with a wry smile and it was always - at least to a degree - a tad tongue in cheek.

So to find myself finally caving in, can I honestly say I'm surpised? No. I can't. Because part of me, the inherent social misfit who's always found a cushion of solace in the written word, knew I'd end up here at some point. The fact that it took me so long is in many ways a surprise. I lasted for an extended and prideful period of time, and for that I'm satisfied. Now, however, I must reconcile my differences.

Blogosphere, my sorry arms are now wide open, and I hope you'll embrace me. I hope you'll take me in. There's never been animosity between the two of us, but rather it was the kind of warmhearted belittling that goes on between siblings or best friends, permitted and taken in stride, because after all, we are kin. We know that the commonality running between us is canyon deep. We are friends. We are those who don't want to say something but have something to say. And sometimes we say things we regret. In short, we understand each other.
